The City of Grover Beach (and partner Pacifica Hotels) is developing a 150 room Hotel and Conference Center and leasing the land from California State Parks.  It will be located on a vacant piece of land on Grand Avenue at the Ocean that is now used for equestrian and RV staging/parking.  The State Park is known as Oceano Dunes/Pismo State Beach.  It will eliminate or render our equestrian staging area access inadequate.  The Draft Environmental Impact Report can be viewed at www.grover.org search for Grover Beach Lodge DEIR updated 12/16/2011

THE public comment period has ended and the next step is for the City Council to approve the project.  IT IS VERY IMPORTANT for you to take a few minutes now and write a letter requesting horse access be kept open at the Beach.  The letter must be signed, dated, and in your own words.  It can be handwritten and only needs to be a paragraph or two. It can be as simple as "I want equestrian access kept open at Grand Avenue beach."  I have attached a letter "shell" you can use.  I have also included talking points to give you some ideas but you cannot use my words.  They will not accept an e-mail or an unsigned letter.

Address the letter to:  Grover Beach City Council and and Ms. Ruth Coleman, State Parks

with a copy to:  Andy Zilke, District Superintendent State Parks

and a copy to me:  Deah Rudd
